Feed Plant

Safe, controlled and internally formulated feed for balanced growth at every stage.

Feeding Strategy

Feed quality is a strategic and essential factor for the company's development. Since 2010, the feed plant has been located at the Group's headquarters, where it has been expanded and modernised, becoming a key facility that guarantees autonomy and consistent feed quality across all farms.

The plant directly produces all feed types required for the different farming stages, from the earliest phases of life to finishing.

Production and Formulation

Each feed formulation is developed to meet the nutritional requirements of the animals and to comply with the PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) production standards for traditional Italian cured hams, including Parma Ham and San Daniele Ham. Our formulations cover the entire life cycle of the animals, ensuring nutritional balance and consistent quality.

Innovation and Automation

Over the years, the feed plant has seen continuous investment in innovation and automation with new production lines, more efficient milling systems, and digital traceability tools that ensure full monitoring of every batch.

A new automated micro-component dosing system is currently being installed, replacing manual weighing with precise and consistent dosing, thereby reducing the risk of errors and cross-contamination.

Safety and Quality

Bompieri Group has discontinued the production of medicated feeds, eliminating potential sources of contamination and strengthening feed and supply chain safety. Any veterinary treatments are administered only when necessary and through drinking water, in line with responsible use principles.

Feed plans are formulated to ensure balanced rations, nutritional consistency, and the responsible use of resources.

Analysis Laboratory

A further step forward will be the creation of an in-house laboratory for testing feed and raw materials, alongside the implementation of a quality management system to achieve ISO 22000 certification.
