Bompieri Group combines the longstanding tradition of PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) pig farming with a forward-looking approach, ensuring responsibility and integrity across every part of our integrated system. Today, this includes more than 30 farms, a feed plant, and continuous genetic selection, all aimed at supplying pigs to Italy's most renowned PDO supply chains, such as Prosciutto di Parma and Prosciutto di San Daniele.
For us, responsibility means placing animal welfare at the centre of our work, maintaining high standards of biosecurity, reducing antibiotic use through targeted and responsible treatments, caring for the environment, and adopting practices that go beyond what is required by legislation or certification schemes.
We have therefore chosen to phase out cages for sows, investing in a new farming model that respects the animals' natural behaviour and improves their living conditions at every stage of production.
